Rave Music Festival Arrests in Los Angeles and San Bernardino

Almost 500 arrests made at Rave Music Festivals Over Halloween Weekend in Los Angeles and San Bernardino

Rave festivals in Pomona and San Bernardino over Halloween weekend lead to the arrests of almost 500 for drug possession, public intoxication, and other charges.

Over Halloween weekend 2015, the HARD Day of the Dead Festival, which is a music festival, ended in the arrest of nearly 500 people. 300 were arrested at the Pomona Fairplex, and 180 were arrested in San Bernardino at Escape: Psycho Circus rave festival. The San Bernardino event was held at the National Orange Show Events Center.

On August 1, 2015, two females died from alleged drug overdoses at The HARD Day of the Dead summer rave, so the events were under greater scrutiny this past weekend, as law enforcement and medical staffs were determined to avoid any deaths.

The annual Hard Day of the Dead music festival at the Pomona Fairplex was attended by 20,000 people on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Almost the same number of people attended the Sunday event. The San Bernardino festival at Escape: Psycho Circus rave was attended by 42,000 on Friday and 46,000 on Saturday, respectively.

The most likely criminal charges for those arrested include public intoxication, PC 647(f); possession of a controlled substance, HS 11377(a), HS 11350(a), BP 4060; and possession of fake identification, PC 470b. All of these charges, presumably, are misdemeanors because of California's Prop 47 law that passed last year, reducing all drug possession charges to misdemeanors.
